Welcome and thank you for visiting my site!
If any of the following statements hits home, you’re probably in the right place:
* My life looks perfect from the outside looking in, but I still feel empty, I just can’t seem to get myself out of this funk.
* I’ve been diagnosed with cancer (or another life-threatening illness) and everyone around me thinks I’m holding it all together, but when I’m alone, I’m really scared and overwhelmed.
* Someone close to me recently died, how am I supposed to go on living normally without them?
* Our relationship has gotten really hard, we still love each other, but things just aren’t like they used to be.
* Everyone around me is pregnant, why do I feel like the only one that’s struggling to start a family?
* I love being a parent, but I never thought it would be this draining, is that normal?
* Everything in my life is going great, if only I could just lose this weight (quit smoking, etc.)
* All I wanted was a healthy baby, but I'm miserable. What's wrong with me?
What’s different?
Wellness counseling is different, because instead of focusing on what’s broken, the focus is on the inner strength and resilience each person has inside of them. Most people will encounter a challenging season in life, it’s what makes us human, but it’s silly to suffer through it alone. My role is helping you find the tools and resources you already possess. Sometimes it just takes an outside person to remind you how to access these resources.
Things you should know about me:
* I am in network with several insurance plans and also offer a sliding scale for clients that choose to self-pay for services.
* I believe transparency and openness in therapy are crucial to transformation and healing, I will do my best to be open and honest with you, and hopefully, with time, you will feel safe being open and honest in therapy.
* Each person and situation is unique. I generally use a combination of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. But at times, I also integrate alternative methods such as mindfulness, essential oils, and music. I tailor my approach to each client.
* My personal experiences and journey in life deeply enrich my ability to connect with people. From time to time, I may share some of these experiences to meet you where you’re at and support you in your journey.
"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end"~John Lennon
