About Megan:
While I’m not a huge fan of the cold, I’ve lived in Minnesota my entire life. It’s my wonderful friends and family that have helped me survive this northern climate, and I’ll surely continue living here for many years to come. I am happily married and have 2 children. In my free time, I love spending time at our family cabin, reading fiction, and singing. I attended Bethel University and received my undergraduate degree in Psychology. Upon graduating, I began working at Cigna health insurance. I worked in a variety of roles during my 11 plus years with the company, including intake, case coordination, and wellness coaching. While working full-time, I went on to complete my master’s degree in Human Development and then earned a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary’s University. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Uptown. As a therapist, I tend to have a laid-back and informal approach to counseling. I like to use humor in my sessions and believe it's important not to take myself or life too seriously. The decision to see a therapist is a very personal and often difficult choice to make. My hope is that the decision to schedule the first session is the hardest part of the process. While there are likely going to be challenging moments in therapy, overall, it should be a positive experience.
